Mountain West Sales is Home to Beautiful Heating

Home improvement businesses in the Albuquerque area are fairly plentiful — which makes one’s go-to answer for home heating solutions that much more crucial. A more excellent hearth product installer is hard matched against the long-standing expertise and community engagement Mountain West Sales provides, day in and day out since it first opened its doors back in 1989.

Jim Lyle of Mountain West Sales, Albuquerque, NM

That’s why when you walk into Mountain West Sales the first thing you’ll see is owner Jim Lyle and his team hard at work.

“We are a second-generation family-owned business specializing in fireplaces, fireplace inserts, wood, gas and pellet stoves, and chimney products,” explains Jim. “We provide high quality, well-known hearth products, such as fireplaces, inserts, and stoves from Quadrafire, Harman, Jotul, Vermont Castings, Morso, Heatilator, Heat n Glo, Town and Country, Stellar Hearth, Ortal, Flare and many others. We also provide a full range of venting products for your fireplace, wood, gas or pellet stoves, or fireplace inserts. Most of all, we provide extensive knowledge and expertise. We’ll make sure to ask the questions that will help you decide on the best, most appropriate heating solution for your home.”

Mountain West Sales is a family business, first begun by John Lyle and now carried on by his son. As Jim prepares to see his family business into its 31st year he reflects on the company’s journey and the passion which continues propelling them forward together.

“We never want to try to persuade people to want something they don’t need. Rather, we want to ascertain what problem the customer is trying to solve by asking questions, offering information and expertise, and then proposing a solution. For us it’s not about ‘closing the sale.’ It’s really about making someone happy and satisfied that we helped them find a solution that they can be confident and assured was right for them.”

It’s the end result of the project that drives Mountain West Sales’ passion. When asked what one of their favorite projects they’ve completed recently Jim replies, “We provided a gas fireplace insert that we installed in a fireplace with an irregular arched opening. To make the finished result look as perfect as possible, we custom engineered a surround panel that matched our gas insert so that the finished product looked like it had been there from the beginning. We were able to transform the client’s drafty, old, unused fireplace into a beautiful, efficient heat source for their home.”

Cavin Jacobs, one of their many satisfied customers has experienced the passion and knowledge of the Mountain West Sales team first-hand. “My wife and I installed a wood-burning stove and needed the double and triple wall pipe to complete the project so we went to Mountain West. I had positioned the stove where we wanted it and sketched out a diagram with all the measurements I thought were pertinent for the stove pipe. We had Mark helping us and he was able to put together all of the pipes we needed. Mark was very knowledgeable and made the whole process very simple.”

Calvin continues, “This is a really neat store if you are thinking about putting in a wood, gas or pellet stove or fireplace insert. They have several displays to look at and everyone seemed to be very friendly and helpful.”

To get started on finding the right hearth product for your home, Jim recommends a visit to Mountain West Sales’ 3,000-square-foot showroom, located at 2718 University Blvd. NE, just south of Candelaria Road. Inside, you will find New Mexico’s largest burning display room with more than 30 fireplaces to see. The staff can also assist customers who want to replace an old fireplace with a completely new one as well.

Proud of Mountain West Sales’ creative progress, Jim is grateful he’s able to serve his community with a progressive, strong local business that prides itself on quality, expertise and exceptional customer service. “We don’t play games with our customers and we aren’t a high-pressure environment. I love it when customers are delighted by their experience with us and recommend us to their friends. That makes me feel really good about what I do.”
